Crafting High Quality CBD: Our Farm to Life Standard
As more CBD oil brands emerge while the category continues to rise in popularity, it’s more important than ever to make the right decisions when it comes to shopping for CBD oil. In our recent blog post ‘CBD Oil and Transparency: Why It Matters’, we offer some simple tips on what type of information to look for when choosing brands. Here, we touched upon our stringent Farm to Life standard, which means we work directly with our U.S. farming partners to ensure we use the very best plant varietals and ingredients in each product we craft. In this article, we will expand on what makes this standard special, and why it means that you can feel confident when choosing Maddyn CBD wellness products.
First, let’s go back to how it all began for us at Maddyn. We spent months traveling the country, visiting farms and facilities, vetting potential partners – all in an effort to ensure that our due diligence resulted in the best products made with the best partners possible. We believe that our customers deserve tested, natural and high-quality products which is why we craft in small batches using only the highest performing ingredients. This is the foundation of our Farm to Life standard, with the key components of the entire process detailed here:
We select partners who have unique strains that are predisposed to generate high concentrations of CBD and low levels of THC that are always below 0.3% for full legal compliance.
- Our farm partners are located in:
- La Junta, Colorado
- Fowler, Colorado
- Our seed varietals include a proprietary high cannabidiol / low THC cultivar and a hybrid of two special CBD specific strands.
After the hemp is harvested, the product is fully dried and stored indoors. Our product is not force-dried, preserving the flavonoids, essences, terpenes, and oils in our extract. Once dried, the seed and stem are separated from the flower resulting in biomass that utilizes only the highest quality blossom in our final product. The biomass is then milled into a coarse powder prior to extraction.
Employing the highest quality, state of the art facilities and extraction equipment, Maddyn partners employ both supercritical CO2 and supercritical step-controlled, USP (food and pharma grade) ethanol extraction processes. Both processes use low temperatures to make sure that many of hemp’s beneficial phytocannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids are preserved through extraction. All processes are performed according to GMP standards, never using harmful chemicals. In addition, strict quality control ensures the final product is completely free of solvents and meets regulatory requirements for heavy metals and pesticides.
We hold our partners to the highest standards of quality assurance:
- Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) licensed farms
- Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) certified
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Compliant
- FDA Registered
- ISO Certified Clean Rooms for processing and R&D development
- Organic farming practices
Finally, all of our products are independently tested so you can trust that you are getting the highest quality and consistency. Our most recent lab reports are always available here on the website, as well as through a QR code on each product’s packaging. Learn more HERE.
